Jigsaw Foundation has awarded £12,860 to the LINK Good Neighbours Arts and Activities Project.
The project is run by Rusholme, Fallowfield and Moss Side Good Neighbours CIO group. Several Jigsaw residents already attend the project’s sessions and all are welcome to join in.
By getting people to talk and make new friends, the project aims to combat social isolation suffered by older people. The project provides friendly and welcoming activities that improve mental and physical health.
The funding will contribute towards weekly sessions at Trinity House Community Centre in Rusholme. These will include a lunch club, an art club and a professionally-led mental wellbeing group. There are also occasional day trips for attendees.
The project has supported 121 people in the last year and sessions are often busy. Most attendees are regulars who now know each other well.
The project is keen to get more Jigsaw residents on board so if you know anyone who would benefit from taking part in the sessions, please email the Jigsaw Foundation team for more information at Jigsawfoundation@jigsawhomes.org.uk
Jigsaw Foundation is an exciting new fund to support local projects run by charities, resident and community groups, voluntary organisations, social enterprises and partner agencies. It replaces our former GREAT Neighbourhoods fund and Breathe Investment Grants.
Applications for Adactus Housing Association residents are now closed for 2019. We will be taking applications for April 2020 early next year. Funding of up to £25,000 is voted for by tenants through our Jigsaw Rewards surveys. Entries over this amount will be approved by the Jigsaw Homes Group’s Executive team.
Jigsaw Rewards is an exciting opportunity for Jigsaw Homes residents to give us regular feedback on our services and plans for the future. In return, you will receive points which can be exchanged for gift vouchers or credits on your rent account. This can equate to saving you £200 over a year! Sign up and start saving now.
