New Charter Homes Work Clubs to resume this week

New Charter Homes is getting ready to re-open its weekly work clubs now that lockdown restrictions are being lifted. The first one will be taking place this Friday 24 July 2020 at The Big Local Hub on Ambleside, in the Ridge Hill area of Stalybridge, between 10am and 12pm.

Many people will have lost their jobs recently due to the coronavirus pandemic, so we know how imortant it is that people have the skills and tools to be able to successfully search for, apply and interview for jobs.

Many previous Work Club attendees have gone on to secure long-term employment, as well as training and volunteering opportunities.
At our work clubs we offer help and guidance with the following:

• Help with online job searches,
• CV writing
• Interview training
• A supportive, relaxed friendly place to meet people and get the support you need
• Free computer use and internet access

The SUSSED IT team will also be on hand to provide support to anyone who is thinking about their own business and needs help with getting started, marketing, social media, managing finances and many other aspects establishing your own business venture.

In order to help stop the spread of COVID-19, the team is putting new procedures in place for the work clubs to ensure the classes can take place while practicing social distancing. All computers will be a minimum of 2 metres apart from each other and the numbers of attendees will be limited.

All attendees must book in advance and places will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. You will be required to provide contact details so that a member of the team can call you before the session to check whether you are showing symptoms of COVID-19.
As it stands, masks are not required to attend although feel free to wear them if you wish. We will inform attendees if they do become a compulsory requirement.

To book your place, either email neighbourhoodengagement@jigsawhomes.org.uk or call 0161 331 2000 and ask for Jamie Bell.
